Anglicare’s 2026 Rental Affordability Snapshot (RAS), released this week, shows that housing affordability challenges across our region have shifted from acute pressure to structural exclusion— leaving people on low incomes without realistic access to the private rental market.
The Snapshot, taken on 14-15 March 2026, assessed thousands of private rental listings and found that the private rental market continues to fail people on low incomes, offering no realistic pathway to stable housing.
