MTP Services is an independent tech consultancy that doesn’t just claim to put people at the heart of their work—they follow through on that promise. Through their dedicated charitable arm, Helping Hand, MTP supports numerous local organisations in their community work—including Anglicare’s Gordon Community Centre (GCC).
MTP Founder and Chairman, Steve Croft, has a long history of involvement with the charitable community in Canberra. “From the very beginning of MTP, giving back was something which was really important to him and, by extension, became important to the company he crafted”, explained current Helping Hand Chair, Callum Lynch.
Not only is the concept of supporting people important to MTP, and to the charity committee in particular, transparency is a core tenet of how they operate. “We have processes set up with a goal of being thorough in how we decide to use the funds that are available to us”, said Callum, “it’s really important to us that we can see the impact of the funds we allocate.”
Anglicare’s GCC is incredibly thankful for MTP’s support and their trust in our ability to create change in the community. The monthly donation from MTP is vital in covering centre costs and helps purchase essential pantry items.
As part of their assessment process, Helping Hand periodically revisits their charitable commitments, reviewing the needs and impact of their charity partners. Recently, this review led to an increase in their regular contribution to GCC.
“Gordon Community Centre has consistently demonstrated impact. They’ve shown that they’re an organised outfit and we’ve been quite impressed. That’s driven us to want to engage with them further”, said Callum.
While we are incredibly grateful for the support that MTP provides GCC, Callum explains that the company also benefits from the arrangement. “I can speak from a personal perspective—and I think I speak for other committee members—when I say we appreciate that MTP clearly values being part of the community”, said Callum. “Helping Hand provides employees a platform from which to give their time and expertise in charitable ways, which is both fulfilling and a real draw card for bringing great people into the company.”
In addition to their financial contribution to GCC, MTP also generously fund a weekly delivery of fresh food items from The One Box—the charitable arm of The Fruit Box Group—boosting our supply of produce for those accessing the GCC food pantry.
MTP also generously support the following organisations:
Gordon Community Centre
St John’s Care
YWCA Canberra
Roundabout Canberra
Zephyr Education
OzHarvest
Queanbeyan Night Podz
