Singing with purpose – Local celebrity, Belle Humbert selects Anglicare as Wagga Wagga Takes 2 charity

We are incredibly pleased to announce that Belle Humbert, co-owner of Kitson Property in Wagga Wagga, is stepping outside her comfort zone, stepping into the spotlight, and showcasing her voice for Anglicare.

Now in its 19th year, Wagga Wagga Takes 2 is an annual event that pairs 10 local celebrities with 10 musical mentors for an evening of entertaining duets. Each celebrity chooses a charity to support, and we are extremely grateful to Belle for choosing us.

Over the past two years, Belle has developed a deep connection with Anglicare, organising her team at Kitson Property to work alongside Anglicare Wagga in managing eight Community Housing Innovation Fund properties. These crucial social and affordable houses provide essential support and empowerment to women and children affected by family and domestic violence.

In the lead-up to the Wagga Wagga Takes 2 event in October, Belle and the Anglicare team are hosting various local fundraising events. The first of these, a Mega Carpark Sale, took place in March at the Kitson Property Carpark and was a tremendous success. All funds raised through this and future initiatives, will go directly towards Anglicare’s transitional family and domestic housing support services.

Belle’s singing mentor, Amber-Rose Walker, is also joining in to help raise funds. With a background working with children and families experiencing disadvantage, she says she is honoured to represent the important work Anglicare is doing in the local area.

Since its inception, Wagga Wagga Takes 2 has raised over $4 million for local charities, and this year marks the third time Anglicare has been honoured as a chosen charity. We are incredibly thankful to Belle and Amber-Rose. Their support will not only directly help women and children transitioning out of DFV situations but will also drive greater community awareness of this critical cause.
