This month, Anglicare staff from across our region gathered to reflect on the progress made this financial year, to coordinate for the future and to celebrate staff milestones.
Held in Canberra, Sydney and Wagga Wagga, the Regional Anglicare Leadership Forums (RALFs) provided a platform for local team members to share their experiences, highlight regional successes and hear directly from Executive and Board members about the organisation’s strategic direction.
Following a period of transformation, the end of the 2024/2025 financial year marks a significant moment of stabilisation for Anglicare—something which Board Chair, Mark Brandon-Baker, attributed to the willingness of staff to change, innovate and adopt new practices. “By those actions, you’ve assured a really successful and prosperous future for the organisation”, he said.
At the Canberra forum, the Board Chair also noted that the newly assembled Anglicare Board will have a majority of female members—better reflecting the gender balance across the organisation.
In addition to sessions on safely incorporating Artificial Intelligence into the workplace, improving financial management and understanding fraud and corruption—the forums highlighted the amazing work being undertaken by our diverse teams. Dr Serena Mathews, Executive Director Permanency Support Program showcased the significant strides made within the out of home care portfolio over the past 12 months, while Director of Early Years, Rebecca Burgess provided an update on our Early Learning Communities—an area poised for growth in coming years.
At all three forums, long-serving staff members and volunteers were celebrated for their dedication to Anglicare’s mission. Ten-year and 15-year anniversary awards were presented in areas such as early learning, disability services, volunteer support, housing and homelessness support, foster care and more.
The Board Chair expressed his gratitude, saying: “On behalf of the Board I want to take this opportunity to thank you all. What you do makes a real difference in people’s lives.”
As Anglicare moves into a new chapter of sustainability and growth, the forums served to reinforce a shared vision and strengthen connections across the organisation. They also provided a valuable opportunity to connect, collaborate, and exchange ideas and experiences. With a renewed focus on collaboration and innovation, Anglicare is well-positioned to continue making a meaningful impact in the lives of those it serves for years to come.
