Enabling young people to start their day the right way, Starting Fresh provides a healthy and supportive environment for young people to start their day with exercise and a healthy breakfast.
Young people will learn the skills needed to improve their mindset and create a positive future. Starting Fresh offers a variety of exercise options changing daily. This may include gym workouts, bike rides, swimming, yoga and boxing along with other activities.
Developed specifically for 12-17 year old youth Starting Fresh aims to give young people the opportunity to start their day the right way. Enabling each individual the skills to develop positive routines and take ownership of their daily choices.
Using fitness and physical exercise as the key tool, young people in the program will also build respect, ownership, a positive mindset, goal setting and health to create opportunities for a positive future.
Promoting positive mental health is at the core of our approach. It also involves building a supportive and positive environment that support mental health and allow young people maintain healthy habits.
The program is working in partnership with the high school in Batlow who identify young people who may benefit from additional support. Starting Fresh was established in Batlow as a bushfire recovery initiative following success of the program in Wagga Wagga.
